When do you use the cocoon?
For parents who are looking for a way to gradually transition from swaddling, the cocoon is an excellent choice. It offers the opportunity to gently acclimate your child to sleeping without being fully swaddled. Once your little one (usually around 6 months) starts rolling over, it is important to immediately stop swaddling as it can be dangerous. Therefore, it is helpful to start weaning off swaddling in advance, and this is where the cocoon comes in very handy. Your child will still experience a sense of security in the cocoon but once they show signs of being able to roll over, their arms should be able to move freely outside of the cocoon (so open the snap buttons for the arms). This allows your little one to move freely with their arms and potentially roll back. After the swaddling phase, the cocoon can be used as a sleeping bag.
